The Seasonal Maintenance Worker position performs a variety of entry-level and unskilled labor, maintenance and repair tasks in various public works operations, such as park maintenance, landscape maintenance, creek and catch basin maintenance, street maintenance, and janitorial and facility maintenance.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight and experience for a rewarding career in local government.

Typically, work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, up to 40 hours per week; hours may be adjusted for special events in evenings or on weekends.

This is a part-time, temporary position with limited duration.

Recreation Leader II (Office Assistant)

Salary:  $15.54 - $18.79

The Recreation Leader II (Office Assistant) position is responsible for providing high-level programs and services through the Parks and Recreation Department which provide concrete, positive experiences for the community. Recreation Leaders (II) perform duties as assigned that may include organization, office administration, program and activity development, implementation and leadership. Recreation Leader (II) (Office Assistant) may be responsible for creating and implementing the curriculum for the Town’s day camp program which offer youth daily activities, including arts, crafts, games field trips and special events, and on-site supervision of staff and day camp participants. This position may also work additional seasonal events for the Parks and Recreation Department throughout the year.

Associate Civil Engineer\Assistant (Civil) Engineer

Associate Civil Engineer\Assistant (Civil) Engineer (Exempt) 

Associate Engineer position is a journey-level class in the professional engineering series. · Incumbents are expected to perform the full range of professional and technical engineering work for the Town's CIP, land development, traffic engineering, and public works infrastructure construction and maintenance projects. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Assistant level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative.

An Associate Civil Engineer receives direct supervision from a Senior Civil Engineer or Public Works Director. This class is further distinguished from the Senior Engineer in that the latter is the full supervisory-level class in the series and/or has ultimate responsibility for organizing, assigning, supervising, and reviewing a major functional area of the Engineering Division.  Salary Range:  $7929 - $9142/mo.

The Assistant (Civil) Engineer (Non-Exempt) position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse array of assignments, including Town capital projects, plan checks for subdivision and private developments, transportation planning and traffic engineering, and construction and maintenance of public infrastructure. The Assistant (Civil) Engineer will provide essential input to the small but dedicated staff team in a community-focused organization that values initiative, energy, and a willingness to work across disciplines and departments to ensure quality service and development that respects and enhances Moraga’s unique community, conditions, and character. 

Assistant Engineers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence over time.  An Assistant Engineer receives direct supervision from a Senior Civil Engineer or Public Works Director.  Salary Range:  $7,209 - $8,345/mo.

Police Officer (Lateral and Academy Graduates)

Salary:  $6,874 - $8,772 monthly

Police Officer (Lateral and Academy Graduate), you will be required to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service; enforce laws and ordinances; monitor and control traffic; prevent crime; administer first aid when needed;  make arrests;  serve warrants and subpoenas;  interview victims and witnesses; interrogate suspects; process crime scenes for evidence; process and transport prisoners; investigate crimes and prepare comprehensive written reports; testify in court; present cases for prosecution to the District Attorneys office; speak before public groups on job related topics and provide other services as needed.
